What Is the History of Anaheim?
Although indigenous cultures populated the region for more than 5,000 years, the written history of the area that would become Anaheim did not begin until the 1830s. While California was still under Mexican control, Juan Bautista Alvarado was given a land grant of more than 35,000 acres by the governor. In 1857, Alvarado sold approximately 1,160 acres of this land to a group of 50 German-Americans who had been seeking a suitable spot for growing grapes. The settlement they founded was initially named Annaheim before its spelling was altered. In 1900, Anaheim had almost 1,500 residents, most of whom were farmers or those who supplied goods and services to them. For the first half of the 20th century, Anaheim grew steadily, achieving a population of 14,556 in 1950. With the decade, the population would explode to more than 104,000, due in part to the opening of Disneyland in 1955 and the nearly immediate construction of various hotels, shops, and restaurants on land surrounding the theme park. By 2000, the population exceeded 328,000, and growth, although comparatively slow, has remained steady.
What Services Do You Offer in Anaheim?
Whether you need a pavement built, maintained, or repaired in Anaheim, we offer a full range of asphalt, concrete, and miscellaneous services to assist you.
- Asphalt Paving: Economical and durable asphalt paving can be the ideal choice for an extensive variety of pavements.
- Asphalt Overlay: Overlays can give an old, worn pavement a new life through the installation of fresh asphalt on top of the existing pavement.
- Asphalt Repairs: Patching and other repair methods can mend potholes, alligatored asphalt, and a host of other pavement problems.
- Asphalt Milling: Whether included as part of an overlay installation, used to smooth transitions between intersecting pavements, employed to quickly remove away an existing asphalt pavement, or used to correct certain drainage issues, asphalt milling machines are fast and eco-friendly.
- Asphalt Sealcoating: A high-quality sealcoat can block damage from the sun, and it can also help prevent damage from automotive fluids and water.
- Asphalt Crack Repair: Open cracks can lead to major structural damage that can be expensive to repair. Timely crack repairs keep water from reaching and eroding the pavement’s foundation, which can lead to the premature deterioration of an entire pavement.
- Concrete Repair: Uplifted, broken, misaligned, or sunken slabs can pose hazards to pedestrians, motorists, and cyclists.
- Concrete Sidewalks: Whether you need sidewalks for your city, campus, or complex, we can construct them for you.
- Concrete Parking Lots: We have the equipment and skills to build concrete parking lots the right way at the right cost.
- Concrete Ramps: We can build your ADA-compliant curb ramps as well as ramps for your loading dock, building access, or other purposes.
- Concrete Curbs: Curbing helps protect your landscaping from vehicle intrusions, but it also helps protect your pavement by keeping water confined to drainage gutters.
- Parking Lot Striping: A well-striped parking lot helps eliminate confusion and door dents, but it will also increase your curb appeal.
- Parking Lot Signage: Your parking lot needs the right signs in the correct locations to comply with legal requirements, provide guidance to drivers, and protect pedestrians.
- Parking Lot Maintenance: An effective maintenance plan can help you keep your pavement healthy and attractive. Let us tailor a plan specifically for your parking lot.
- Pavement Markings: Whether they appear on public thoroughfares, in parking lots, or on private roads, pavement markings provide information. Although some markings are voluntary, others are mandatory under federal laws or local codes.
- ADA Compliance: The ADA is a complex set of laws, including rules on how property owners must ensure equal accessibility for all. When violations occur, they are frequently related to the striping, marking, or signage used to identify accessible parking spaces and travel routes.
- Line and Marking Removal: When you need to change your layout, alter your design, or eliminate obsolete lines or markings, we can remove them safely and efficiently.
- Bollard Installation: Bollards can be utilitarian, decorative, or both. Let us help you choose the type of bollards you need to accomplish your specific goals.
- Warehouse Striping: Make your warehouse safer for people passing through, improve the efficiency of your forklift drivers, and make things easier for your inventory crew with professional warehouse striping.
- Shot Blasting: Shot blasting is a type of resurfacing process that can clean concrete or metal and remove many surface irregularities.
